Hi and hello friends! Welcome to my new online shop and blog space! Been searching for a new one since I left Shopify over a conflict of ethics and really liked what was going on over here at Mayhem Marketplace.
A little bit about myself. 46 year old divorced punk uncle who has been etching glass since I was 15 years old. Had many MANY different jobs over the years, but modern capitalism doesn't really allow us to build careers any more. Worked in fast food, restaurants, 12 years in the Newspaper industry and driven power equipment for various warehouses. Held every position from shiny new guy to department head. But I decided that I was tired of all the foolishness and struck out on my own.
20 years in a deeply abusive marriage and decided I was done. Moved from Northern Cali to Central Illinois in May of '22. Me and two cats in a van packed with my entire life. Over the last 3 years I've built a new life. Lost one of my cats and learned so much about the nature of being alone and whole.
So here I am. Doing my best. Making my art and building a community.
I do custom and stock etched barware. Heavy focus on the nerdy side of life. To be fair...mostly TTRPG stuff. Because honestly what is a better setting for silly drinkware than sitting at a table rolling dice with your friends. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love wedding jobs. I may be divorced but I still get mushy inside at a good love story and it would be an honor to craft something special for yours. I recently started making jewelry. Mostly the glass is sourced locally. I do community clean up walks and pick up trash in the neighborhood. Any glass I find I break, tumble, etch and turned into unique sea glass pendants, earrings and pins. I also work with stained glass to make custom gaming tokens for TTRPGs and boardgames and the like. It's quite a silly profession you see. But it brings me joy.
